Today the Church of Saint Maria
Alemanna we find it completely restored and brought back to its ancient splendor.
With the construction of the perimetrical walls, the Church has conserved intact
the skeleton of the gotica architecture and in the original style can be admired.
The foundation laughed them to 1220
for wanting of Federico II of Svevia; the Church was built up sure in order to
assure the Teutonici Knights, engages to you in the crusades in Saint Earth, a
refueling and pause place. In the course of the centuries the Monument has
endured various changes and destinations several due to the natural catastrophes,
the war events and the incuria of the population.
The Monument remained until to 1485
to the Teutonici Knights then passed to the abode of Palermo until to 1605, to
the Devout House of Sant' Angel of the Red ones until 1808. The earthquake of
1783 made to collapse the facade and the times and therefore the tempio were
used after warehouse; it will succeed to remain miraculously in feet with the
terrible one terremoto/maremoto of 1908 and subsequently will be restored and
brought back only partially (a transparent panel replaces the not reconstructed
facade) to the beauty of a time.
The basilican system is divided in
three navate from arched pillars to bundle and pointed; the navate ones are
concluded with the three semicircular apses.
