In this First room of the Museum are exposed works of various tipologia like pictures, capitelli, mosaics and fragments of wood of various origin. These works are all collocabili chronological around to XII the century to horse between the great artistic expression byzantine and that one normanna. Here some fragments in decorated wood are found that they before made part of the ceiling of the Dome that the fire of 1254 destroyed it. Particular relief covers, between the works exposed in this Knows it, the Madonna in Throne with the Child commonly defined Madonna of the Ciambretta . Niche to mosaic on deep gold of representing the Madonna of the making Ciambretta of author unknown byzantine-norman of the XII century,  part of the artistic patrimony of the ancient Church of Saint Gregorio not more existing.
