Fountain of Orione
was built up of forehead to the Dome in 1547.
The
work of the architect Giovanni Angelo Montòrsoli
a
lot important for the city inaugurated a event:
the
construction of the first aqueduct obtained with the convoyment of
waters
of
the rivers Camaro and Bordonaro.
 
The Fountain is dedicated to founding mythical the Orione giant of the city of
Messina.
Its
figure, with the coat of arms of the city and the Sirio dog to the feet,
svetta in top to Fontana.
Three
marmorei groups with putti, naiadi and tritoni, separate the two
bathtubs
from
where it exits the water that gushes out in the inferior river basin of
twelve sides decorates

ORION

The
symbolic figures of the rivers Nilo, Tevere (in this photo), Ebro and
Camaro they
rest on the edges of the bathtub where following are read in the order
to be distant to us Latin: "Nilus
ego ignotum, septena for wafer fessus hic caput in gremio, zancla,
repono yours" (I,
the Nilo divided in seven foci, mine ignote origins hide in your breast,
or Zancle) "Ob
