Antonio Maria Jaci
The
great scientist nacque to Naples in 1739, from Neapolitan father and
messinese mother Flavia Ferrara.
It
remained orphaned in young age and was received to Messina from the
maternal uncle Hannibal who made it to study, maintained it to the
University also where he studied natural philosophy and sciences. The
great passion for mathematical sciences carried it to graduate itself
young in mathematics, physics and medicine. In 1783 it obtained the chair
of philosophy and mathematics in the Archiepiscopal Seminary to Messina.
In 1802
it constructed the meridian one of the navata one centers them of the
Cathedral of Messina, today, unfortunately, not more existing. The not
working earthquake the yields more and, then, the incendiarie bombs of the
war of 1943 will destroy it completely.
